Welcome
Welcome:
Welcome to the Youth Climate Action Network website. The Youth Climate Action Network was founded in January of 2007 by students at the Boston Latin School, Boston, Massachusetts, blsyouthcan.org.
About the Youth Climate Action Network
Youth CAN is a growing youth climate action network, currently made up of eight climate action youth groups across Massachusetts who have formed climate action groups in their schools or communities for the purpose of taking action to address the problem of climate change. Youth CAN groups have committed to working together towards building a youth climate action network because a coalition of global warming youth groups has the power to work for change in ways that are much greater than any one youth group could have working alone. Imagine many youth climate action groups speaking with one voice, insisting that legislators make the necessary changes pertaining to global warming! There’s strength in numbers, join us!
Become A Youth CAN Member: We invite new member groups to join with us in this exciting effort. For more information about Youth CAN membership, check out the networking page of this site. Sign up to get a Youth CAN Starter Kit to help you start your own group!
Link to Your Group’s Youth CAN Website
So that Youth CAN groups and individual members can all stay better connected, we encourage each Youth CAN group to create their own web page about the particular projects they are working on at their school. Send us your website link at contactus@blsyouthcan.org We will post the links to Youth CAN group websites here.
Network Initiatives
In addition to all of the various and worthwhile projects that Youth CAN groups are individually working on in their own schools and communities, there are several projects that all Youth CAN groups are working on together. Go to the Network Initiatives page to find out what they are and how you can contribute!
Youth CAN Partner Groups
Youth CAN also has several partner groups in the form of like-minded community organizations. We currently partner with The Technology and Culture Forum at MIT, The New England Aquarium, The National Wildlife Federation, The Boston Climate Action Network, Boston's Environmental Ambassadors to National Parks. The Boston Nature Center, Down:2:Earth, and GreenSchools. To register your organization as a Youth CAN partner, sign up on our networking page on this site.
